We decided to feature all business owners and entrepreneurs, ultimately providing exposure to these individuals. These ladies answered several questions pertaining themselves and their work. Janel is 24 years old. Owner of @diamondeffectjn . She graduated from USC Upstate in May 2017 with a degree in Information Management and Systems , concentration Health Informatics.
Janel established/officially launched Diamond Effect by JNichole on September 27th, 2018. Diamond Effect by JNichole provides custom made machine made wigs.
Doing hair has always came natural for Janel. Her mom was a beautician. Growing up as a child she was always in the shop watching her mom do hair. Janel taught herself how to make wigs by hand, how to cut hair and how to color hair. She stayed consistent and practiced over and over until she got all her skills down packed. Overtime Janel wanted to take her skills to another level. She then took a class on how to make wigs on the sewing machine. She mentions how this was very challenging in the beginning but as time went on, with practice and patience she got to the point where it was easy as 1,2,3.
Janel didn't realize the impact of making wigs/units until she saw all of the good feedback she received from others, on the units she made for herself. She had so many people reach out to her about pricing and how could they get one made. That's what pushed her and that's what made her want to provide her services to others!
The advice Janel would like to give others is ,don’t ever let anyone tell you , or don’t ever feel like whatever industry you want to go in is over saturated! So many people get discouraged because they feel as if there’s no point with so many others doing the same thing. You have to remember that it’s ENOUGH room for everyone to WIN. Keep in mind when you go into convenient stores or local grocery stores , how you have different options/brands for bread , milk , cereal, etc to choose from. You may have something different to offer that NO ONE else has!
Janel post her openings once a months for her wigs. She also provides free shipping. She posts ready to wear wigs periodically as well. Janel will also be doing another wig raffle very soon
